What are your current areas of interest related to your practice?
I am passionate about sharing yoga and meditation practices with expecting and new families. I have experienced first hand the benefits of practicing the philosophy of yoga while pregnant, during childbirth, and motherhood. I have officially registered for my 85 hour Registered Prenatal Yoga Certificate and Doula Certificate. I plan to expand my offerings and workshops for families.

What are your most memorable experiences relating to your practice?
Meditating with my grandmother is a very special practice to me. She introduced me to yoga and mediation as a teenager. We now practice together regularly. Yoga poses at Machu Picchu right after my surprise engagement. Practicing in the jungle of Belize. My husband and I took a private lesson looking over the jungle and river.

What to expect in class: Kate's enthusiasm for building community helps create a supportive and fun environment during classes. Given her first-hand experience with the benefits of yoga, she particularly enjoys introducing new students of all ages to the practice. Her instructions invite students to explore their own balance between effort and ease.

Kate has taught yoga for seven years, the past three of them with the Yoga Center of Columbia. She is passionate about providing yoga to all ages, even the youngest of students! She is also a supporter of music and the arts, and hosts outdoor classes for the Baltimore-based nonprofit Holistic Life Foundation.
